Our Story & Journey So Far
Two years. Two years I have been Mrs. Jaydan Urwin! I still can’t believe how fast it’s gone by. In honor of celebrating our anniversary this month I thought it would be fun to write about one of my favorite stories. As you can see it’s the story of how Jaydan and I met! And it’s a pretty good one. I hope you enjoy it!
HOW WE MET:
Jaydan and and I met in the summer of 2016. I was visiting family for the summer and came down to Idaho. We met only a few short weeks after I arrived. I can remember the very first time I laid eyes on him. He was on stage practicing with the worship team. I remember him being so into it, bobbing his head to the music and everything haha! He thinks I’m joking when I tell him at that very moment I was so smitten. But it’s true. That night we met briefly and didn’t really talk much after but he was always in the back of my mind.
A few weeks after that he came up to me and introduced himself again. He said “Hi I’m Jaydan, I think we’ve met before?” I was thinking to myself “Yeah we met weeks ago what took you so long?” He came over to my family’s house that night along with a few other people and we talked all night long. We talked politics, music, ping pong. I mean anything and everything. From that moment, I knew he was the one for me. After that we were pretty much inseparable. We spent the rest of the summer together hanging out every chance we got. Some of the best times of my life. We dated for about five or six months and on Christmas Eve 2016, he asked me to marry him! And the rest is history haha!
OUR LIVES NOW:
We got married that spring and had a beautiful wedding surrounded by our family and close friends. And if you haven’t caught on yet, this California girl stayed in Idaho. Fast forward to now, we’ve been married for almost two years and together for a little over three. It has been a blast building our lives together! Without a doubt, there has been some really rough seasons that we’ve been through. We had and still have a lot to learn but God has graciously brought us through those times. And truly, I don’t think we will ever stop learning. Jaydan and our little family of two has been the biggest blessing in my life. It was definitely challenging getting married so young (19 for both of us) not knowing that much about life yet- but that is the beauty in all of it! Growing up together and navigating life together. We love to travel, listen to Biggie, eat pizza and stay up late on the weekends. We love Jesus and he’s definitely given us both a heart to love people through Him.
"IT SHOWED US THAT LIFE IS MORE THAN OURSELVES SOMETIMES AND WE MUST USE OUR LIVES TO BE AN EXAMPLE OF LOVE AND LIGHT."
I think after we got married we realized how hard life can be for people. We were over the moon those first few months but after a few fights we quickly realized that life could be a little lonely and hard sometimes. We didn’t have much friends or people to do life with and went through some hard seasons just the two of us. It really made us stronger in the end and gave us a deeper understanding of life. It showed us how much people matter. It showed us that life is more than ourselves sometimes and we must use our lives to be an example of love and light. We’re almost 22 now and have hopes of owning our own coffee shop one day and love people through that. And God willing add some littles to this party in the future. I hope this encourages you to take risks, to live life to the fullest, to be a friend, to love people and to be open to the possibilities that God has in store! Because He is always up to something good when you least expect it.
